Surréxit pastor bonus, qui ánimam suam pósuit pro óvibus suis, et pro grege suo mori dignátus est: Allelúia, allelúia, allelúia.
 
English Translation:
The good shepherd has risen, who laid down his life for his sheep, and deigned to die for his flock. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
 
This setting of a text from Morning Prayer for Easter Monday was inspired by listening to the gospel readings during the Easter Season. It is intended to express what the apostles and early disciples might have felt as the Lord appeared to them soon after his resurrection.
